alright there, i have to pick up an agp s939 mobo on the cheap and need it as soon as poss

ive just got my agp bfg 6800gt...

im not THAT bothered about overclocking as this will just end up as a pc for downstairs but it would be nice if it will overclock a bit

the last agp s939 board i had was the msi k8n neo2 and i managed 325HTT as my highest clock but my venice wasnt stable at this speed

i have a venice 3200 so id be looking at maybe 270 as the highest

any had this board or should i just steer away from the via chipset from the off

its only 35 quid from aria bargain basement so its all good :)

Let me know cheers

270HTT is probably about tops for most people on a K8T800 Pro chipset (a very few have got over 300 though).
HTT isn't the be all & end all so you wouldn't see a big difference anyway.

if it's an old board that's been lying around you will need to flash the BIOS for Venice support.

well all the venices ive owned have hit 300fsb + at sub 1.46 volts so core volts isnt an problem...

neither is ram volts as im only using pc2100 at the moment cos i just sold my g skills but im a tccd man...

ive got a dfi board anyway this is just for a second pc

cheers for the heads up on the venice bios ill see if i can get it flashed in store

It's not voltage that's the problem, it's the chipset - the locks can go flaky around 270 it seems.

edit: your sig says that you have a K8N Neo2 for sale - why not keep that?
Either that or update your sig :D

:P i have sold it, blah i would buy another buy id have to wait for it to get delivered and to be honest im strapped for cash till teh 28th...

im happy with around 250 tbh, its not a computer im going to use all teh time so it will be fine at stock...

i just remembered i had an abit board with via chipset with no pci/agp lock back in the day and i got a s478 pressie up to 3.8 on water it was 2.4 stock :P

but anyway i think im gonna go get it in a bit

just gotta cut rubbishy grass first mc lame

cheers mush
