Does anyone have/has anybody heard their new album? I love ff, but have heard mixed reviews of the new double album.
Would be interested to hear other people's thoughts before I spend my hard earned cash!
Yeah i'm umming and ahhing as to whether i like it - I've got it in the car atm and i'm not 'hooked'. Pleasant enough but doesn't grab you like their previous efforts.
My thoughts (however the others are starting to stick on me) is:
Rock album: First 3 tracks are good... rest need a lot more listening to.
Acoustic album: Fantastic, love every track
Saw a review that said exactly the same thing.

DAMN!!! :D. Anyway, had a listen to the album finally and i must say its not as good as previous stuff. Its like they've taken all the 'so-so' tracks they had and made an album out of it...nothing really jumps out at you somehow. I'll give it another listen and see what happens...

I've been listening to it more or less non-stop for the past few days and it is definitely an album that grows on you over time. The first CD is all classic Foos material and there's some very nice tunes on the acoustic CD.
Highlights in my opinion are:
- DOA
- Deepest Blues are Black
- Resolve
- Best of You
- Miracle
- Still
- Razor
I'm just pleased they haven't split up; I really thought they were going to around this time last year. :)

Disk 1 is sent from the gods (of rock of course!) Every track is just FANTASTIC!!!!!
Disk 2 (the acouticy one...) is kinda (just) alright. It's gonna take a few more listens for me, although there are some nice tracks on it.
Am I wrong??
I think I need more rock foo's...

And he turned down a place in legend Tom Petty's Heartbreakers band before that. :)
But I guess all you Foo Fighter devotees already knew that.

He also toured for a year with the little-known band Scream before joining Nirvana.
Saw the Foos yesterday at T, without a doubt the highlight of the day. I have never seen such a great crowd response, even at past Ts, didn't play that much off the new album though.
Pure class :)
He also had a solo album, out before nirvana, had the first version of friend for a friend (cd2) on it. played all instruments and sang himself. It was called "pocke****ch".

I love this album. My favourite so far is Over and Out, which is on the second CD.
