View Full Version : Strange mistake!
I installed my new Akasa 913 today as instructed by the manual and ran the PC to get an idea of temps. I then took off the fan and had a bit of a go at cable tidying, when i reatached the fan, without knowing it, i set it to blow air out of the heatsink. Booted up and noticed my temps were alot lower, ran it too 100% CPU usage and the temp was better than before. I then opened the PC to find i had put it on the wrong way and was pretty shocked. Is this safe? Or should i panic and put it right?

it really depends on your heatsink whetehr this works for you or not. some heatsinks tend to get really hot if air is sucked from them and so as a general rule you always blow air into it...but if this works for you then keep it like that ;)
yeh, aftering a bit of playing i get the idea of how it works now. Currantly its set up to blow air in and the temps pretty much the same as when it was sucking out. The only reason i may leave it set up for sucking is to stop it blowing hot air onto my gfx card.
