Hello all, i'm having problems reaching 200fsb...

When ever i put it up to 200 i get slight instability, but put it to 198 and it runs fine, no problems what so ever...

I have a ABIT AN7, 2600XP (Barton), my ram is OCZ Platinum 3200 dual channel kit (1gb), PSU Tagan 480, 6600GT (AGP - not o/c)...

At the mo core voltage is at 1.844 (lower and it gets unstable)
RAM 2.60
Northbridge 1.65
agp, i forgot =/

CPU Heatsink is Thermalright SLK-947U, NB Cooler is Thermalright NB-1

Idle its usually at 46-47 and playing a game about 51, system temp usually around 36

Anything i can do to reach 200fsb?? or have i just reached the limitations of the chip?? I dont really want to go down the watercooling route to be honest.

Any tips appreciated :)

LOL. I wouldn't worry about the extra 2MHz.

A stock XP2600+ is 11.5x166 = 1.91GHz so if you are stable at 198MHz then you are running at 11.5x198 = 2.27GHz which is OK.

Try upping the RAM Voltage to 2.75V which is stock voltage for that RAM.

hmm just noticed something, i downloaded CPU-Z and run it, apparently my ram specs are cas2 and ras2cas3 and precharge3 and tras 6

i was running cas2 ras2cas3 and precharge2 and tras5
i wonder if this is what was giving me the porblems at 200mhz?

Anyway i just changed them and put it upto 200, so i will see soon enough.

Thank for the reply fella, hey i checked OCZ's site out, they say my ram runs at 2.6v any reason why i should put it upto 2.75?

Cheers. :)
