After about a week of running my new PC i have started to get a little worried by my system and cpu temps (monitored with NVMonitor). Right now my CPU is running at 2% and the temp is 43degrees but my system is at 47degree. I installed a new 80mm fan at the blowhole at the top of my WaveMaster case in an attempt to lower my system temp. This is running at full pelt, making alot of noise! This has done sod all to my sytem temps realy, i think it may have even increased since i put the fan in. Is 47degree acceptable or should i be looking for some better cooling solutions. Currantly i have 2 front fans (80mm) 1 back exhaust fan (80mm) and the new top exhaust fan (80mm). All fans bar the new one are CoolerMaster stock. Any 1 got any ideas?

Thanks in Advance

Sorry if i sound way too newbie just dont wanna fry anything!

seems very odd for system temp to be higher than ur cpu temp... VERY odd...

thats what i was just thinking, was just about to post again asking for help. I'm thinking possibly a error in monitoring of some sorts, maybe there the wrong way round? But i doubt that for some reason at the CPU is one which changes more rapidly and in corrilation to CPU usage. I turned off that blowhole fan and right now my reported temps are 44degree CPU and a worrying 47degrees system temp. Is this very very odd?

just looked on speenfan and the reported temps are:

temp1 : 45
temp2 : 48
temp3 : 43

which one is for where/what? are these dangerous?

is the fact my front fans are attached to molex plugs instead of the 3pin mainboard socket going to adversly (sp) affect cooling. Sorry when it comes to this I am a complete newbie.

Get motherboard monitor 5 and replace the data file as directed...

gives what temp is what, accurately...

right, CPU temp at 45, PWMIC (system?) at 47 and NF4 at 45. Are these anything to be worried by? How is my system temp higher than my CPU??

nope that's fine for cpu temps, the other day when it was really really hot my cpu got to 56c whilst i was playing cod - but all i did was put my desk fan next to the system with the side panel of and all my probs where sorted :)
Your temps will get lower when the summer ends so don't worry about what you've got now. What have you got on the cpu now - the stock heatsink and fan?

Temps havent been so bad latley, currantly 43 CPU and 44 system which is alot better than before, maybe just different program but seems alot better. I was thinking that maybe the sytem temp appears to be so high is due to the placement of the themometer. Might be placed in a hot section and not realy showing the true system temp?? but i dunno.

Just be glad you don't have a P4 - you would have freaked by now.

System idle for mine - even with w/c was 55 (I did have grphx w/c too) and that was normal conditions

lol, i'm glad its not that bad for me. Things are going a bit better now and my idle is around 40degrees

I used to be parinoid about temps but my pcs noise was getting to me so now I run without any exaust and a super quite artic cooler.

At full tilt with my black pc in direct sunlight while folding I had my cpu upto 67c and the air inside my case upto 47, I ran into no stability issues and everything is still running fine. I think anything above 70c is time to shut down though because thats approching the max spec temps.

my normal operating temp (idle) is about 47 for my cpu and a case temp of 40

If I wack my artic cooling cpu cooler upto full tilt I get temps of 35c which is awsome considering my case temp is actualy higher than that (mabey my case temp sensor is located in the hot air coming from my cooler) my cpu cooler takes air using carboard ducting from the lower part of the case away from its own exaust.

my advice is to get rid of that top fan and not to worry

Thanks for the advice, i might look into getting a new CPU cooler and a fan controller so i can slow down all my fans for when i'm just web browsing etc. I have a feeling my system temp monitor is probably near my CPU heatsink which is probably why its temp seems to be higher than my actual CPU.

It just a relief to know my system isnt going to burst into flames :)

Thanks Again

After alot of cable tidying my temps are now:

CPU : 41
System : 42
NF4 :40

:)

Theyre ok mate...

system temp is actually taken as a component temp (generally), so dont take that as a air temp.... its not too bad anyway :p

yeh, motherboard temps its measured at. Cable tidying seems to have settled the temps about abit now. Glad to know everthings safe :)
