I'm looking for a new fan for my case, but i don't have a lot of money. I'm looking for a cheap blue led/uv 120mm fan to go into the case. I've looked on one cheap store, but the fans use a 4 pin plug. I want a fan that i can plug into my fan controller.

Do you guys have any ideas?

Thanks :)

Get a 3 - 4 pin molex adapter then it won't matter what the connection is on the fans that you are looking at.

but normally they are 3 pin to 4 pin molex, which the fans are

The fans are 4 pin, the fan controller is 3 pin.

The molex adapter changes the 4 pin fan to a 3 pin fan and lets it connect it to the 3 pin header on the controller.

I think that the 120mm fans are molex as opposed to 3 pin because of the current they draw. I'm not sure that putting a 3 pin adapter on one would be a good idea (waits to get shot down in flames).

the antec ones are pretty good... Plus they have 3pins AND a 4pin adapter included. Thats what i have as my exhaust, the blue led one, works in my controller fine, no probs.

My 2pence worth.

Most 3-pin header fan controllers that I know of can supply sufficient power for 120mm fans.

No flames required. :)

The Akasa Ultra Quiet 120mm comes with a 3 pin connector and it has an adapter that works the other way changing the 3-pin fan to a 4-pin fan. Unfortunately it's orange or I would have recommended it.

Flames Flames Flames :)

Most fan controllers will do 18watts on each channel, some small ones are 12-14watts that is a max of 1A at 12 volts. Even a 125CFM Papst 120mm x 38mm only draws 0.358A and a 80mm x 38mm Vantec Tornado draws 0.76A

The reason I said most was because of fans like this:

Delta 120x38mm TFB1212GHE Extreme High Speed
Specifications: 120x120x38mm, 220.01 CFM @ 4600 RPM, 65.0 dBA, 29.40 watts, 2.45 amps, Maximum Air Pressure 26.44 mm H²O, 12v DC, 3 or 3+4 pin Molex header connector(s).

Blimey, after reading this I had to look at their website and managed to find another one:

TFB1212UHE: 234 CFM @ 4900 RPM, 67.5 dba, 39 W, 3.25 A, 30 mm H20 !!

When sitting close to one of those two fans, not even ANR headset from my Cessna airplane would help a bit.
