Hi,

I recently brought all the things needed to overclock graphics card and CPU ( coolers, a beefy PSU ). But! I have no reason too overclock anything, since i am completely hooked on a 2D online game...which probably does not use up much of anything.

Is it wise to run a overclocked system, leaving it on all day without it doing much? Since the CPU speed cant be changed...will another 200mhz on the 3000+ newcastle bring around a un-nessessary higher electric bill? The graphics card is different, and mainly the CPU question is the real question.

Should i wait intil i start getting into a graphically intense game that i overclock then rather then now?

There probably is not much point overclocking, if you are not using the full potential of the system at default settings.

Then you have the option to overclock in the future when you intend on using more demanding applications/ games.

You can always enable Cool'n'Quiet - this will drop your processor's speed down when not needed (& saving power) & ramp it up when required.

i dont think the extra electric used in overclocking will be noticed in ur bill. its hardly anything.
