I have an NF7-S 2.0 and i'm currently running with the following settings:

Althon XP2500-M @ 1.9volts - 200mhz FSB, multi 13x, core 2600mhz (XP3800)
Memory is CAS 2, RAS->CAS 3, RAS Precharge 3, Cycle 3 at 2.9V (max of the motherboard) 2x512 dual channel - it's OCZ PC4000 rated, which can do 2-2-2-2 @ 265mhz but with higher voltage (3.3+)

Given my processor, can i ramp up the FSB and if i do - what sort of settings should i be looking for? I'm on the current settings simply because they're stable and i find FSB/RAM divider a little erm.. confusing ;) I'm off to do some reading but thought you might have some good ideas :)

You seem to be pushing ALOT of power through the CPU just to get to 200mhz... my old athlonXP 1800+ managed 210 on 1.85v, an athlon mobile should surely manage at a lower voltage?

Therefore, I reckon you can up the fsb further than that... You might have to drop the multi a notch though.

Spot on.

I've managed to put the FSB up to 218mhz, and dropped the multi to 11.5.
At 200, the max multi was 13x or it wouldn't post. 220mhz seems to kill it too... My voltage was higher than necessary tbh - i had it at 1.775v @ 12.5 and i'd just jacked it up a bit to see what i could go for ;)

Anyway, that puts me at 2496mhz which is fine and memory bandwidth is up too. I wonder if i should pursue more agreesive memory timings?

You might as well try for tighter timings, since you said that your RAM can do it. You wouldn't hurt anything, really, and you might increase memory bandwidth a bit.

I second that... although I don't know a great deal about memory timings, so i can't advise.

Don't forget to swat up with windows aswell, disable all the system proccesses you don't need and such like to save on CPU time and memory usage, that can squeeze a little more out aswell.

You don't want a high Multiplier, you want a high FSB.

Try dropping the multiplier to say 10x and see how high you can get the FSB.

Ironic that your name is latency :D

Am i right in saying its OCZ VX PC4000 ? If so, get a DDR booster...

true ;)

But latency is a term used in more than just memory timings :P
