View Full Version : Best cooler...
Hi,
which is the best cooler for an amd xp3200+ running on a abit an7 mobo ?
My system cooling is fine (23c at the moment) but my cpu is around 50 at idle.
Some people have said that is fine for the xp3200 but i'm not too convinced.
Any help would be much appreciated,,,
50c is fine yea, you're okk up to 55, when things are getting a bit naff.
However, if you're a tuner, you can get lower temps.
The thermal right heatsinks are usually your best bet, as they can fit huge fans on them for silence.
thx...i did a bit of looking and found this...ThermalRight SI-97
it seems to have some good reviews so i think i'll get one over the weekend.
mmm... the SI 97 should do well, I think the 120mm Thermal rights are too heavy, but that one's about spot on for size/performance.

I would say leave it as it is, those temps are quite admirable, but it depends on how you are measuiring those temps?!?!
Leave it as it is, and save the odd £20 for your next upgrade in the future, i.e. when you buy a new processor and mobo, if you are into that sort of thing.
But if that was me, i would leave it even if that system was running 24/7!
Cheers
Ian
