I was just wondering how stable omega drivers are? I want to soft mod my 9800se graphics card, to a 9800 pro and overclock it.

Remember, unless your computer is fast enough to run the game at tottally maxed out graphics, there's not alot of point in using the omega drivers.

The omega drivers are tuned more toward picture quality than performance, so they're great for either uber fast computers, or slightly older games, but if you're tuning to get the game graphics up, I think the cats are better.

Im planning to overclock the whole system to 400 fsb, and with any luck, maybe a little further.

Omega's drivers are the official drivers just with a few preference values changed & of course with the addition of a few utilities etc. (like the softmod) in the install.
I never had any problems with them.

Can you overclock with omega drivers?
Yes, Radlinker/Radclocker is part of the package.

I went with the omega driver. Unfortunately, when i activated the other 4 pipelines, the artifacts on the screen were to bad. So im just going to overclock it.

which se card did you get?
i'm using omega's stable as stone. but i use ATI-tool to overclock because i like it changeing the clocks to default or lower depending what im doing to understress it.. and upto XT speeds when playing games
i get better frame rates with the other 4 pipes and upped clocks.. quite a fair bit actually :)
but yea which brand of SE did you get?

EDIT : read your sig Sapphire same as myn.. have you had the hsf off and looked at the core to see if its a 350 or 360?

Its a sapphire atlantis (256bit)......I think its rare to find a 9800se card that has all its 8 pipe lines undamaged....and i guess my ones in the majority :(

that's unlucky man. i think i must be extremely lucky tbh...
i think myn is the same card, i unlocked all 8 pipes, and managed to get it upto 412/750(XT default) stable... luck of the draw i guess.
