Right i have a have a major problem, when i switch my pc on it spins everything up for a split second and then nothing, i can press it a million times and the fan etc just spins for like a split second. After a while it may boot but i dont get Video out at all, no beep nothing :( then it may start the spin for only a split second thing again. Anyway this happened after i had ago at overclocking and obviously f8cked it all up. Ive reset bios a billion times, treid a different Vid Card in it nothing works ive treid booting with just memory and chip in. I know its not the PSU cause this works for another Motherboard (a P2 :( )
I guess ive shorted the chip or motherboard then  Anyone anything?
Specs:
Leadtek Winfast K7NCR18D Pro motherboard
AMD Athlon 2400+

OK, you can try a couple if things, try it with just the mobo and processor plugged in (no RAM/Vid card/HDD/CD/DVD/etc) to try and get it to Post, if that works, plug everything back in incrementally 'til the system is back on its feet.
If trying it with just the motherboard and procesor did make it post, take the processor out and put a new lump a thermal paste on it and try again. If that doesn't work, look at getting it RMA'd.

RMA basically means that you either get a refund or replacement or whatever from the place you bought it. Depending on when you bought it, and whether or not you can convince them you didn't void your warranty...

Guess its time for an expensive upgrade  :p
I had a dodgy motherboard that would do that, chip was fine though.
Have you checked for sign's of shorting on the board or processer? or bent pins :D
You can't always tell though. After my initial accident and bad smell, It looked perfick.
LOL, just read that back and it sounds like I had a different kind of accident to that of shorting my motherboard...
