View Full Version : Extra cooling on a Shuttle ?
I've just done this but I'm not sure the noise is worth the drop of

Is there any other known way of helping cool the beast ?
I have a Ati 9800 GFX card in it so that don't help.
Thanks

My solution was to fit SilenX 14dBa fans. 80mm inside and a 80-120mm adaptor and a 120mm outside. The benefit is I can have every thing turned up full with much reduced noise over standard. My temps are CPU 36c, PWM 37C, Case 30C and GPU (X800XT) at 33C. Ambient temp is 22C. Noisiest thing is my graphics card.

from looking at the link..... it seems like it would be easier to just remove the grill altogether?
Like on the back of mine. I've replaced the 80mm with an Asaka ultra quiet 80mm, then an 80>120mm adaptor, and another Asaka 120mm on the back. I've also removed the grille on it to make sure no airflow is restricted.

All it does now is spurt out cool air. Its on 24/7 (current up-time is a month)
