Some Green Day ones, couple of Feeder ones (signed ;)), a Darkness album cover and a Keanu Reaves poster (although the latter was bought more for a long running joke rather than out of admiration...).

And a Mountain Biking UK one on my door.

We really are reaching new and previously unreached depths pointlessness and boredom on these forums. People talking about what posters are on thier wall's and taking photo's? WTF's up with that?!?!

Maybe there is something to be said for teenagers hanging around bus shelters and getting ****ed after all.

However, while we are on the subject of posters; when you get to the age of about 24ish (left uni) and get your own home you realise that posters look crap without frames, just go tatty and might as well say "I am a teenager/student/still live with mum" on them. smclintock, get a darkwood simple frame or just a clip frame. That poster would look class framed.

Now, go forth and meet girls will ya

never mind dom....

Once you get a place of your own you dont have wall space once the kids pics from school, rellies piccies etc have to all vie for space...

When you're a boarder living with 50 other people, personalisation is all you have left of your identity

When you've got two small sisters, your private space should look/be the way you want it

It isnt that sad to put this kind of thing on here - whats the point of the forum in the first place

:)

NO! I TELL YOU! NO! Kid's ruin homes. My misses keeps droping hints about kids. No chance. Kids draw on walls etc with pens and stuff. No rug rats ruining my cool house.

It's the general discussion area - as long as stuff is not blatant spam, it's OK to be off-topic (eg non computer stuff) in here.

I don't see the harm.

Regarding posters - yes, covering every space bit of wall space can cheapen a room, but there's nothing wrong with a few posters here and there in a bedroom.

also depends on the style... my sister has lots of odly shaped posters overlapping each other... but then it doesn't cover the room...

My rooms too small to have many posters in, but we're moving very soon then I shall have a much bigger room :D

The ones I do have:

My northern lights poster (176k) (http://idleentity.co.uk/l4t3ncy/northernlights.jpg)
My contemplation poster (212k) (http://idleentity.co.uk/l4t3ncy/contemplation.jpg)
The caption reads 'Contemplation: If today was perfect there would be no need for tomorrow'

And this absolutely fantastic Luis Royo poster that my mate got me today for christmas (it's a little less office-friendly, but nothing drastic)
Luis Royo collection (184k) (http://idleentity.co.uk/l4t3ncy/luisroyo.jpg)

i just have one big wall which has no furniture against it and i did used to have posters that filled the whole wall. but now i have ripped al them off and have switched to bigger posters. i drawn a picture of tupac shakur and framed that, so that is hanging on my wall. also if you have seen the drawring you can pick up in musiczone of 2pac then i framed that one aswell. with the scarface poster i mentioned(pg1) im going to frame that one which will look alot better.

I've got a Damon Hill framed print thingy in my room here, and I've got a large pic of the Frasier cast I'm going to get framed.

At uni, I've got a few buffy ones, 'the dog' (with all the scary close ups!), a penfold one on my door, and a few random film ones dotted around...oh, and a signed Four Star Mary one :) (not that anyone will have a clue who they are! LOL!

:o I filled my room full of posters of bands I like... and also some people I fancy (also from the bands I like lol)

They're all the kerrang ones that you can get in the poster books, though I've got a couple of laminated posters and a fabric poster, which keeps falling on me :(

Just a small snippet:
Something Corporate, Blink 182, Finch, Jimmy Eat World, Offspring, Limp Bizkit.

Looking desperately for 'A' posters.. can't find them anywhere :(

Your urge to conform is commendable, and proves University is still doing its job admirably! :D
I am 42, have owned my own place for 15 years and I have posters. Framed Marvel Comic posters in my hallway to be precise. When people can have multicoloured prints of tinned soup acclaimed as important works of art, a few posters hardly pidgeon holes you as 'teenager/student/still live with mum' type. In addition to my posters, I have two paintings (one on canvas, the other on fabric) and a number of photographs. I see them as a personalisation of my living space in a way that goes beyond painting my flat in fasionable colours and coordinating my sofa and curtains. Call them posters, call them art. I like them and so do most who visit! :)

I was thinking about what was said earlier in this thread about not having children because they are monsters who write on the walls and scream and break stuff. Remember! Once we were all Monsters to our parents. Now I know what my mom meant when she said:

"Someday your gonna have kids of your own and I hope they grow up to be just like you."

30-12-2004, 15:59
It's sacriligious to frame them! lol

I can't see me doing that myself, but it sounds like a good idea for prized posters. I'm quite liking the idea of covering my ceiling in "poster flags" - I'll be getting rid of the ceiling fan soon so there'll be nothing to yank them down.

30-12-2004, 16:07
I too have started framing some of my best posters, i've been and done the whole student thing, and covering every single space on my wall with posters doesnt appeal any more.

The only posters I have up in the traditional blu-tac manner are about 20 odd from the gigs and music nights I put on in my promoter days. Most are either A4 or A3, so arent worth framing, but the whole lot only take up about the same space as 4 traditional sized posters.

Mooseman4k
30-12-2004, 17:08
Pink floyd fabric posters, Huge union Jack, Dark side of the moon subway poster (e.g. Massive), "Police Warning, Thieves operate in this area", Beware CCTV in Operation, Echoes (another pf poster), Lydden Hill Rally X advertising board ], Audrey Hepburn poster. I really want to frame my hepburn, echoes and dark side of the moon posters. Never got around to doing it though and i've not seen a frame which will fit the dsom poster. Nabbed most of the signs when i was younger and thought it was cool. One of my friends woke up with a "danger, explosives in use" sign which was a tad worrying though.

I have a pretty naff collection, just the kind of things you buy when you're 13, and have more spots than pennies...my computer desktops make up for the lack of decent posters.

Jordan in a Union Jack bikini, pre-boob jobs.

Nichole, Playboy Miss October of...errr...I dunno, the Calendar says 2001 but that's on the copyright thing so might not be accurate.

Playboy Star Series poster of Victoria Silvstedt.

FHM 2006 calendar (I'm broke and a copy of FHM is cheaper than a new calendar, plus it fits in well with the 'theme' of my walls!).

Preciosa 'Masters of Crystal' 2006 calendar. Now, if you didn't guess from the name, Preciosa is a crystal manufacturer; so if you knew that (or do now) you're wondering...why? Well, because Preciosa does all the crystal/glass displays and stuff for the Miss World competitions. You can see where this is going, no doubt. :p

Not so much a poster, but this 'flag' takes up most of my bedroom :)

I've got a framed hard disk (it pleases my 'inner geek') and a couple of band posters. In the hall and living room I've got a few LPs framed and hanging on the wall and a big funky canvas print of some rocks.

Works out a nice comprimise - millions of posters can look a bit tacky, but I hate bare walls.

Craig
30-05-2006, 22:59
My walls are quite bare, decided against putting up loads of posters; thought it'd be tacky and make the wall too busy.

I've got an old style guinness poster, a load of photographs I've taken enlarged and on my wall, a small print by http://www.sebwestgallery.co.uk/ of St Ives beach and the final touch is an old Zool 2 poster of which I'm very proud as it's such a wierd, wonderful and fantastic looking game/poster!

I only have a hitman : blood money poster. I used to have a few max power ones (with the car showing, not the girl) and some pictures that I took of racing cars but they got taken down when we redecorated.

I like the way everyone is going on about not being able to post in old threads n stuff then the owner comes along with a large REDBULL flag. Thats cool. My mate has a Chinese flag in his room.
