Hi all,

Since its Xmas is round the corner, I decided to treat myself to a 19" TFT  The only problem is that I haven't got the foggiest of which one to choose!

I was originally going to choose the Iiyama E481S-B, but checking some reviews on PCPro :

MAC User review (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/macuser-labs/54530/iiyama-prolite-e481sb.html?searchString=e485s+b+e481s+b)

PC Pro Review (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/labs/52674/iiyama-prolite-e481sb.html?searchString=e485s+b+e481s+b)

Both say totally different things?! Macuser, says its basically crap image quality and loads of lag, whereas PCPro says its the dogs ******!?

Looking around some other shops, I noticed that Iiyama are bringing out another model : E485S-B which has a 20ms response time. So should I wait a little longer for this one to come out?

I just need a good TFT to do some surfing/watching DVDs/Doom 3/HL2/NFSU2 without any ghosting or lag.

Any first hand experience on any 19" TFT would be most appreciated! :)

For the usage you listed (DVD and FPS-gaming), then its best to get a TFT with 16ms response time or lower to reduce ghosting.

There are plenty around, so no need for me to list any, esp from competitor sites.

Proplus, I noticed in your sig, you've got the 19" Iiyama? is it the same model i'm after? if so any good? Its rated at 25ms response times and its supposed to be pretty good? No ghosting apparently??

The one I got is the AU4831 does 1600x1200 at 25ms. Iiyama has stopped porducing this model, and you'll be very hard pushed to find any 19" TFT that does 1600x1200 now. As for ghosting, I've never noticed any, the PC with this TFT is in my office, and in my spare hours I've played NFSU2 and HL2 on it without any noticeable ghosting at all.

The AG Neovo E19A (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_6063.html) is a classy 19". Unfortunately... it's OOS at the moment :(

The Viewsonic VX912B (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_6048.html) would also be a good choice... and it appears to be in stock ;)
