ive been looking at a 6800LE ( but has 12 pipelines instead of 8 ) anybody got any ifo about them ...


my specs
amd64 3500+
asus a8v
corsair value 1G ddr400...1stick but looking for another stick for dual ch
pioneer 108 + no name 16 reader
2x 120g sata 8mb
audigy 2 zs
antec sxII 1040 case ( 400w )
aol 1mb broadband
128mb gainward 5900XT ...NOt the gs version

I'm not sure you have much to gain atm from a 5900XT. I would go for a 6800GT or a 6600GT personally, if I were to upgrade form something like a 5900XT.

Definitely only worth the upgrade if you go for a 6800GT or X800 Pro, otherwise you'll be wasting your money.

Vanilla 6800 would probably be a worthy upgrade, but best to save your cash and thake lancelot's advice.

If you are willing to softmod the card, you could look into Unwinder's softmod in Rivatuner, discussed over at guru3D.

There have been mixed success reports, depending on card vendor etc, but if you were successful in unlocking the masked pixel unit and vertex unit, the 6800 offers quite a saving over the GT or Ultra (assuming the extra pipelines don't reveal unwanted artifacts).
