Hi fellas
Ive been trying to get a z-board for over 12 months from the states, but only recently have they become available over here (as im sure your aware).
I bought the basic setup with the crossfire keyset.
I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and it has its good/bad points, thought id share em with you all so it may help your choice.
If you have one what do you think?
Its easy to set up
Comes with the up to date software/drivers.
You can change the key binds very easily and has loads of the top games already preset into a quick menu system.
2 usb ports
Keysets fold up into small units
wrist rest is removable
8 bindable keys for shortcuts to windows/media player etc
It uses W.A.S.D buttons as its move keys , although the keys are redisigned to "Help" gamers, it really only "FEELS RIGHT" for players who would normally use these keys. I use direction keys normally as i have large hands (and this helps to stop me hitting other keys by mistake), and i thought it would be easy to convert as the keys are large, but it isnt, if you dont use W.A.S.D in my opinion dont bother.
The crossfire qwerty keys are split due to the fact the board folds for install/storage making typing in game very fiddly as the keys are not in the usual place on the keyboard.
Basically if you are a serious FPS gamer, z-board will give you no advantage over a standard one. Infact if you are a serious gamer the fiddly nature of the key placement will hinder you
The difference (if i'm not mistaken) between a themed z-board and a basic crossfire one is basically a sticker?, as you get the other games keybinds in a menu
The z-board in my opinion is a jack of all trades, its not the answer to serious gamers prayers, but its got some nice features and if you use W.A.S.D and just play for fun or are learning a game, this could be a very nice addition.
