hi
my pal has just bought a new asus mobo, (from one of kustoms competitors silly boy)
anyway on 1st boot it, it already had the correct dat and time set etc etc?? :confused:
do mobos now do this ?or does it suggest 2nd hand?

the time gets stored in the bios with is powered by a batterie which is always on. So that is ur question ansewered.

yes I know that, but every single new mobo I have ever bought has always had to have the time and date set......by me
Every mobo I've bought already had date and time set, I usually had to correct it by a few minutes but otherwise they were OK.

That is not right for an Asus board. They are shipped out of the factory with the default CMOS clock times (I have built too many systems with Asus boards not to know this). Not ONE Asus board I have had in my hands has had the correct time & date when purchased.
It could be a used board, or that the company could have set it up & tested it before shipping.

I have bought loads of asus mobos too, and always always had to set the date and time
y do it matter if the time is rong just go into windoes and change it lol :)
