I have searched quite a few places for details of a bios upgrade but I cannot find anything atall.

Here are my bios details at present.

BIOS ID String: 61-0630-001169-00101111-071595-440BX/ZX-1440B000
OEM Signon: A6168P2 V1.4 071399
Chipset: INTEL 440BX/ZX REV 3

I want to upgrade the bios as I'm having no luck atall with Internet connection sharing on this machine, plus I can only see 32gb of the new 80gb hardrive.

Any help would be appreciated, thanx in adavnce, Dan.

Take the side panel off and see if you can see a manufacturers name on the mobo.

If that doesn't work try downloading CPU-Z from http://www.cpuid.com and see if that can tell you the manufacturer.

Is that a Packard Bell machine you have?

Also Belarc (from Belarc.com) as another member suggested to me will tell you.

From the description you give it sounds to me like a MSI MS-6168 motherboard.

Spot on! don't forget the version 2 bit tho. And yes it's a crappy old packard bell. Any suggestions fellas?

I'm not sure if the 440bx chipset will let you see any more than 32gb anyway.... been a long long time since i had one of those.....

Have a look here, seems to be a lot of people needing the same sort of help as you.

There is a solution...of sorts, but it seems to work.
