Hi guys, I’ve got a bit of a strange problem and I have tried just about everything.

Ok here goes:

Seems my pc is unstable, to the point it does not run prime, it just hangs about at 3% or so then spikes to 100% like normal then dies off.

I had this error before on my previous MB (another NF7-S) but never at stock speeds. (only when overclocking) so I’m horrified for it to reappear.

Ram 1024MB (2 x 512) OCZ PC3500 (1 new, 1 old) The system works fine with either stick by itself in any slot. Does not accept any combo of the two in any slot order so I don’t think it’s the memory.

Replaced Mobile 2500 with a standard XP 2500 (unlocked) – same problem.

Also reading strange over-volting:
Voltages •—[[Core 0] 1.7V [Core 1] 2.8V [+3.3] 3.4V [+5.00] 5.1V [+12.00] 12.2V [-12.00] -12.3V [-5.00] -5.2V]—•

I DON’T KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!

Anyone got any ideas?

By the sounds of that... it IS the RAM thats the problem.

So if i'm right... if you use only one stick it works fine?

either stick, new or old in any slot and it works fine.

Do the same with both...

I had exactly this problem with the same motherboard, processor and memory (except mine was OCZ PC3200) - would not run stable with both sticks of memory installed but was fine with either. Kustom replaced the memory and all has been sweetness and light ever since.

Cheers,
Stephen

well Jooster looks liek you were right :p

pulled out both moduels and replaced them with a matched pair of 2 x 256 OCZ PC-3500 (matched pair) and all is well.

Goulg to try diffrent combos of the 256 and 512's to try and narrow down what dimm it is :)
