AMD Processor RoadMap (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Corporate/VirtualPressRoom/0,,51_104_608,00.html)

Let us all shed a tear for the chip that not only turned it around, but whupped Intel's a** when it came to the VFM stakes. :(

Well, still on XP's here at the moment. Planning to go S939 but the chip price is putting me off at the moment. My rig does all I want it to do so I'll hang fire for the moment. Running 3 2500's and were all happy:)

same here, Im planning to ignore Socket 754 completely.... Why did they bother with those? :S

Price is an issue tho... and is it worth waiting for PCI-E (or PCI-X, whatever ;) ) ... something new is alllllways around the corner.

Using a Socket 754 here and will be selling my XP3200+ shortly. It is a shame, but thank God they've moved away from those stupid little cores that you were always afraid to crack when tightening a heatsink :p .

i dunno.. not gonna change either my bartons or my northwoods until they die properly.

been talking to Graeme about mobo's recently and there are too many different types of cpu/socket on the market these days. i remember when there was just 2...

i remember when i used to know all the new hardware coming out , and could tell you about anything .... that was back in the Athlon 1700 ... infact this time last year i still had one in my main system. (i'm on an Athlon 2800 right now by the way)

i'd quite like to get away from this shuttle business and get a proper system again (i cant stand the restricted limit's of them anymore) and have been browsing through motherboards, cpu's etc. and i'm just confused to say the least !!

i should be ordering a pentium based system around easter time next year so any idea's what the spec's will be round about then ??
