Plextor UltraPLEX 40x SCSI CD-Rom. Worth keeping?

Found one of these with a scsi card in my box of bits, and wondering if it's worth keeping. Will this drive do anything better than my nec 3500 or toshiba 16x dvd rom will do audio extraction for example?
