How about replacing the power switch with a key that when turned sends a sound to a speaker similar to a car engine starting?

mean :) i`ll get to work on it right away ..! On a serious note, maybe new power switches is a cool idea - we sometimes use rackmount cases, and the one`s we use have a neat power switch , its like a spring loaded two way switch, difficult to explain, but its good !!!

I'll be interested to know how you do it in the end and the results, :)

Make sure you chose a nice engine note though, don't want it to sound like a diesel, :)

heehee, u should hear my little citroen - it`s got a full custom made stainless style exhaust system, removed cat, and twin 3" unfilled tailpipes - THAT makes a nice noise :)

Record it and then play it when you turn the key to switch your PC on, :)

Nah, try a modded turbo car, with a dump valve!
that would sound nice.
Maybe an evo????

dead_one summed up my car well by saying `it sounds like it should go much faster than it does....` :)

Toyota came up with this marvellous idea of playing a sportier engine note through your speakers that was tied into the engine management system.

It was tested on a Camry, beige, slow. Quite odd to hear it rev like a Ferrari when the reviewer put his foot down, :D!!
