Hello all.

AVG has detected the folling on my drive but can not remove them. I also have various anti virus programs that dont see to detect them.
Can somebody please advice on removing them?

They are:

Trojan Horse Favadd A
Trojan Horse Downloader.Istbar.4.AE (X2)
Trojan Horse Download.Inservice.O
Trojan Horse Dropper.Bridge.A

Do any of you recommend Norton Anti Virus? I've heard it takes alot of system resource? I dont want to slow my PC while gaming etc.

Thanks

track the *******s down and get em in safe mode..usually works for me

Norton is a nasty piece of work, it's far too paranoid, and very difficult to customise the way it works. Go for McAffee (not a big improvement unfortunately). As for the stuff you've got on the system at the moment you'll be best off looking for individual removal utilities, that is if Safe Mode doesn't work.

If i remeber rightly AVG has a details button once you run a sweep if you hit that youll see all the sweeps you have done click on the viruses its detected and itll give you the locations of the files and if AVG doesn't delete em do it manually.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Sorry, but how do you delete files in safe mode?

like Queeg said...if you run a program..like AVG it will tell you the location of the files...take note of these and look for em in ..windows folder or wherever they are try deleting them in normal mode..if you get access denieds, cannot be deleted etc etc..just remember where they are

restart your comp press f8 and tell it to boot in safe mode, this disables loads of things thar usually stop u deleting files

now your in safe mode..now delete em!...shouldnt have any problem removing em then i dont think ive ever had a virus that wouldnt delete in safe mode
