Hi, I cant get my monitor to start up. The pc boots but only very rarely will the monitor boot. It was fine until I moved it recently from my office and ever since Ive been having problems. Ive tried 2 graphic cards & neither work.

Any ideas!?
David.

Does the PC work fine with another Monitor? If so then its going to be a dead monitor. btw monitors dont "boot up" they just turn on ;)

what type of monotor is it? TFT or CRT?

If its a TFT Id try connecting it thru the DSUB connector rather than the DVI or the other way around depending on the way your connecting it up.

If its a old CRT you may be facing having to replace it, you've eliminated the graphics card (which usually would be the culprit) possible a loose connection somewhere.

srry couldnt be more helpful.

Did you damage the cable when you moved it? Does the cable attach to the monitor through a plug or is it fixed? It might be that its not connected securely enough.

Its not the monitor or cable as Ive tested with another pc and it works fine.
I have a gut feeling that its a loose connection or something similar as it occasionally works.

I think I might just take it apart and put back together again!

Its a CRT btw.
