Hey, I have an Asrock K7VT2 but I have problems. I bought a 512Mb PC2700 Crucial Stick of DDR but when I put it in (Taken out the SDRAM) the monitor doesn't turn on, fans spin and hard drives work but it basically acts as though the RAM isn't there, The Crucial site says it should work, all the settings are right and the RAM has been working in a mates PC. I took all the safety precautions as well :( Any Ideas? :(
Check all the connectors (especially power) are seated properly and the RAM is set properly. Is it a new board?

Nah it's quite old, everything is seated right, not sure bout RAM, it wouldn't push in any more...

I'm assuming you didn't put the DDR in the same slot as the SDRAM? IIRC it should be impossible anyway. Maybe the BIOS needs updating...?

That depends on whether he's deaf and so can't hear a loud crack when he tries to shove it too hard. :)

I needed to put WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than the recommended 20 - 30 pounds of pressure on it
