bios upgrade, can anyone help?

I would like to update my bios but have a few questions first. Can you help?

As I have a bios version 1, does this mean that I can only upgrade to a 1.1, 1.2, etc, or can I update to a 4.7, 6.7, etc?

Do I still go ahead if I recieve the message:the programme file part number does not match with your system. Despite having the right upgrade???

Can you help me? Can you point me to the right upgrade for my system?

goto your mobo manufacturers website and download the bios for your particular board.

ie model and revision

then as far as im aware thats it, just flash away.. but make sure you read any literature on it b4 hand that they have on their site as ASUS boards like mine may be diffrent than ur board.
