OK I have spent far too much money on my darn puter already. And it rocks, but its really loud, and i mean really loud it gives me a headache after a while.

silent solution (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Other_CPU_and_System_Coolers_18.h tml#aHS_2D000_2DZA)
Does anyone know anything about this?

These puppies are very smart looking and also quiet, but if you but one you might want to replace the sleeve bearing fan it comes with for a ball bearing fan. The only downside to these beauts is there weight because they only use two lugs on the sockets to secure them down, i wish they would bring out a model which uses the four mounting holes in motherboards!!
Other than that they are very good coolers, one of the largest surface area Coolers available and also at an affordable price. :)

I wish I knew of it before I bought an impulse purchase of this coolermaster thing! I mean it works really well, but its way, way too loud! And its the same price, so now I am gonna have to try and sell it on ebay, all covered in heat sink gel! And get feck all for it! :( waste of cashola!

SPeaking of which, does anyone know the best way to remove heat sink gel! I was told soft sand paper, but surely that will scratch it to hell!?

what kind of fan do you have on your coolermaster?...maybe you could swap to a lower rated fan (db) i used to have a noisy delta but swapped for a mechatronics from the overclocking store....big improvement

id also recommend a rheobus if you have alot of fans...there tops

SORRY!!!!!!!!

Zalman (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=3550)

Didn't see them.

Can you suggest a good but quite cooling solution of xp1800+ I am not over clocking it! And too be honest it doesn't get too much abuse! So the focus is more on quiet than cooling!

Are they hard to fit compared to heat sinks ?

Kynoch

No they are easy to fit if you have adequate room around the motherboard for your hands, they come with a special tool to help you fit them with ease! When i get a new case (a soon as i recieve this months wage packet, i will also be geting one of these coolers, coz my silver mountain with its delta fan it doin me fookin head in now!! They are well worth the money! Go on buy one from kustom you know it will make sense in the end!! :D :D

Zalman Flower cooler will fit your Gigabyte board - it fits my giga-byte board and mine's an MICRO atx board!!!

just make sure you get the Socket A/462 cooler, and not the P4 socket 423/478 one...

use alcohol, dabbed with cotton or something to get rid of the thermal paste... i guess some kind of rubbing alcohol, maybe white spirit would be best -- tesco economy scotch worked well though... that stuff will clean anything :D

Isopropyl Alcohol works a treat and you can buy it from your local Chemist. Paint thinners also works well, but it also wiped the ink off the warranty label on my CPU.
Oh well!

Kynoch

Maybe referring to the stuff used in the automotive industry to remove grease ets from car parts, its like an acid too the stuff!
Also highly recommended for eating away rubber things!
