My System:
Abit IC7 Max 3
Pentium 4 3.2 (800 Northwood)
2 x 512MB Patriot P4200 DDR
Thermalright SP94 with 92mm Enermax
550W Antec TruePower
Antec P160 Aluminium Case
MY PC for some reason decides its going to power off for no reason - I'm just using windows & all of a sudden the power goes off. No errors or windows shutting down messages, nothing.
The temperatures don't seem to bad - using speedfan CPU is 47oC & the other temps are 34 & 36 oC.
Anyone got any ideas?
what about your voltages? have you checked your GFX card temps?

Voltages are good - being an antec PSU the 5 & 12 v rails are good. Its more like someone has cut the power to the system. Its a complete power off rather than a reboot.
I have ran prime 95 for 9hrs & memtest without any issues. So I'm fairly sure ram & cpu are fine. The PSU is only a couple of weeks old (so is the ram & motherboard too)

I had the same thing happen to me and it turns out it happened to a couple of my mates the same nite - the exact problem you are having. The thing was that there was a storm going on with lightening and thunder, and it was causing the PCs to reset themselves, no errors, just turning off and back on.
Anyway, the next morning, it was fine.

All to do with the power being supplied to your PC. Do you have a surge protector, there's can temporaily switch off the power if the current is too dirty. Check your mains wall socket, check your power wiring, and finally check to see if its your PSU.

Its the same cabling externally that had on my shuttle - so nothing has changed there. Its a bit difficult to get a 2nd PSU to try.

Hold ya horses guys. Just because your system completely switches off, rather than reboot, does not mean it's got to be a PSU or power suply fault. It could be something like a dodgy CPU fan sensor etc...
What are you doing when it dies?
