Now hopefully unlike my other topic, this isn't me being an idiot (don't bet on it :D).

Right, the mobo has 2 SATA ports controlled by the southbridge, and 4 controlled by a Silicon Image chip. The 2 on the southbridge work fine, however I can't get the other four to work in Windows (which would be ok, except I have 3 SATA drives not 2, and want the 2 largest ones in RAID 0).

It's all enabled in the BIOS etc, and the utility comes up as part of the boot process. I can view the drives, format them, RAID them etc from the utility and both of the drives show up. I installed the software in Windows, obviously, and this works fine and even shows the drives and what configuration they are in.

But no joy in Windows Explorer.

The comp these are in isn't connected to the net yet, and I may well find some magical Windows update that will fix it...but ya never know.

Abit IC7 Max 3
1x 80gb on Southbridge
2x 250gb on Silicon Image

Have you initialised the drives in the windows disk management console?

Er, probably not. I only did an initial bit of testing and benchmarking (albeit 3D Mark 2001SE...) before taking it apart again so that I could mess about with the case. What can I say? Aluminium mesh rules.

I'll give it a go once I assemble the thing again.

Have you loaded the SiL drivers?

stdPikachu: Thanks, now you all know why I hate plug and play...it confuses me now when something ISN'T. Oddyl enough, I have just the right amount of unpartitioned space... :p

Buff: Well it's sorted now, but the Silicon Image utility it part of the driver, so yeah.
