Hey, step aside, the Athlons, T-Bird and XP. The new star is out, - it's cheap, it's fast, and it's Intel
The P4 1.6A seems to be the bees knees for a combination of stable overclocking and price without the perennial Athlon toaster syndrome!
Any comments?

I've got a 1.6A, overclocks to 2.5ghz with a bit of a voltage bump and I've got a crap one :D

I have a 1.6A P4 which runs at 2,130MHz with a standard HSF running at 2,800rpm in a smallish case (Cooler Master ATC600), and no voltage mods. With a Radeon 8500 it does 8,309 on 3D Mark 2001SE.
Seriously, anyone out there, how often have you been able to over clock an Athlon by more than 500MHz without any alterations and without massive coolers and case fans? - And have it completely stable!!!!

yeh but the 1.6 p4's are quite low cost, easy to overclock and my system still runs completely silent (zalman flower at 'slow' speed) ... it's a bit more hassle with the AMD - this is my home machine and I really couldn't be assed spending time over it :)
