These (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_list.php?part=1&kind=3&CHIP=3&ID=1) might help as well :D

As it's on board, you need to look on your motherboard maker site for drivers as different makers inplement it differently.
I had no end of problems with on board AC97 so I disabled it and brought a soundblaster Audidy card which absulutly rocks.

hello mate thanks for finding that info!

do you personally think that uninstalling the sound driver and installing the same one but from that msi page might be a good idea?

by the way the problems intermittant it seems to be fine at the mo? These (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_list.php?part=1&kind=3&CHIP=3&ID=1) might help as well :D

No, I don't think we do.

I have three boards with AC97; the only one that still has it is only used for work.
