I've just been given a new SKD usb2 cardbus to use in my compaq nx9005. Trying to use it to link to an external hard drive brings the error message 'power surge caused usb device shutdown' or similar after 2/3 minutes each time used. Card came with no instructions but had lead with usb one end and split to ps2 and jack (for insertion into card?).
Probably just me being stupid but help welcomed.
