Hi all,

Been messing around with my vid card drivers in order to squeeze those few extra FPS out of Doom 3, when I noticed something rather strange.

http://www.clanvenom.co.uk/agp-rate.jpg

Notice my operating system's AGP rate is running at 2x whilst the bios and video card are clearly set to 8x

I have tried several driver versions (forceware and nforce) and they all report the same.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a simple reporting error and everyone's says the same?

Thanks in advance :)

Sounds like a reporting problem to me, but I haven't had an nvidia card in quite a while so maybe somebody else could help a bit more.

You should try these commands for doom3:

seta image_useCache "1"
seta image_cacheMegs "256" (or whatever 1/4 of your total ram is)
seta image_cacheMinK "20480"

Gives me a constant 60fps, even in big battles in ultra quality @ 1024x768. Just put them in your cfg file, saves you bothering to type them in ;).

sorry to bring up an old thread, but it also looks like you havent got your AGP drivers installed, as it says PCI Mode.

install some AGP drivers or you wont get the most out of your card

well spotted nick, this is likely that you havent installed your mobo drivers properly, or if you have there may be a seperate gart install option on the disk you need to run.
