Having previously suggested that people were paranoid about cooling (See "Excess Heat - a modern myth?") and reading lots of articles about the screaming delta fans some people use, muggins decides to get the Cooler Master "Heat Pipe" coolers - not 'cos his machine runs hot but as a built in "safety factor" for future overclocking!! The fact that they look rather flash has, of course, nothing to do with it!
Hells Bells and Buckets of Blood!! The reviews indicated that the fans were delta or delta types running at 6,800prm and the Dba figure was certainly higher than my existing fans but, when I switched the damn machine on, I jumped! They aren't ear piercing but God, they dominate the sounds in my office. (God knows what it would be lke if I took the computer home!)
Thing is, according to MBM, the fans are running at 7,500rpm!!! HOW do I slow these buggers down?

Hmmm.. at idle, both processors are running at 2ºC below the chassis temperature. (Aluminium case) :p

Get a bay bus or rheo bus which allows you to attach four fans to the bus which is mounted to a free slot in your bays then the good bit you can run which ever fans at different voltages,it makes having a delta bearable

Hi Alan,

The Answer is the Zalman fan mate in our Misc cooling section - an adjustable method for controlling fan speed ! You can quiten deltas but still keep the strong force of the fan - and tweak as much as you want !

Two ordered! Thank you.
I was going to do the Bit-Tech potentiometer modification and connect both pots to a blanking plate but this means the Coolers' wires don't have to be cut.
