Can anyone tell me how i can unlock or overclock my Athlon Thunderbird 1.4Ghz 266 fsb. I have a Gigabyte GA7DXR if it helps.

Most 1.4s are already unlocked, you should have a facility on your board to adjust the multiplier as you wish (although I've not used the Gigabyte board before, so I don't know the specifics of it)

You unlock it by connecting up the bridges on the CPU with a silver pen. Look here O/C Athlon (http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/00q3/000711/index.html). Safe if you have a steady hand!

I un-locked my chip by using a graphite pencil, and a piece od paper to line up the bridges.
