View Full Version : Archiving SMS from Nokia 3650 to PC
I have in excess of 400 text messages on my 3650 which I do not wish to delete. I was horrified when I tried first with T-Mobile, then directly with Nokia, to discover that although it is possible to archive photographs to my PC using my TDK Bluetooth connection, there is no functionality to do the same with text messages.
My phone memory is understandably getting rather low. I was linked to a product called DesktopMessage, but cannot get the demo version to work, although it does look like it would suit my needs if it worked.
Does anyone here know of any way I can transfer my text messages to my PC?

Ypu should beable to use a peiceof software called PC Suite for Nokia Phones, which allows Bluetooth connections and backing up of all the datat on your phone.

The PC Suite allows you to back up your phone, but doesn't allow access to the data. So the only way to re-read any SMS is to download back to a phone! What I want to do is to be able to transfer the SMS to my laptop in a re-readable format.

you could have a look at http://www.oxygensoftware.com/
their software works with most Nokia mobiles and you can export your SMS's to files ( I think) it's been a while since i used it! not got around to getting my Bluetooth dongle installed on my Win2003 OS so i can't be sure...:D

The Mobile Phone Suite provided with the Logitech Dinovo Media Desktop bundle copies your SMS messages to the PC from the phone and stores them within the software allowing you to delete them from your handset.

Now say that in English please! :D
How would I get hold of the "Logitech Dinovo Media Desktop bundle"? What is it "bundled" with?
The word Logitech always makes me feel safe. :)

If you buy the Logitech Dinovo Bluetooth Media Desktop (Bluetooth Keyboard, Mouse & Number Pad) the software has the Mobile Phone Suite bundled in with it. I use it with my Sony Ericsson K700i and after deleting the messages off the phone, as long as I have synched it up with the software, the old ones are still on the PC.
Pardon me, but that does sound like a rather expensive solution. Especially considering that I almost exclusively use my laptop, so I don't need another keyboard, and I use the touchpad instead of a mouse. Do you know of any way to get the software on its own?
