hi there! im running a gainward ultra 650tv 64mb (ti4200) and in the nvidia control panel i can get 310/553mhz (default: 250/503) after clicking test new settings without any white dots or interfearance . Does this mean it is safe for me to run these frequencies without destroying the card?!

obviously, white dots and crashes are a bad sign... run 3dmark2001 from www.madonion.com (http://www.madonion.com) to test out a speed to see if it's stable. Generally if it can loop that for an hour, it will keep doing it for ages and your card is stable. If it freezes or crashes, turn the speed down a little.

The golden rule with overclocking is never to go crazy and ram the settings right up - if you just increase gradually and run tests as you go along to ensure stability then you'll still have a rock solid system that lasts for ages.
