unfortunately, there are too many variables involved - makes diagnosis difficult...
are the hangs happening at particular instances? and does the screen just 'freeze'?
ive talked to a friend and he seams to think that its my windows, the hd was set up in my old pc and he thinks the poor buggers confused...........
ive been told to run scanreg /fix on a: but to no avail........would you think completly wiping my hd would do the trick?.......or just the windows partition?

What did you upgrade from?
did it ask for a load of drivers when you started it first time?
did you uninstall all other stuff from old board?
best bet would be to wipe windows partition, and re install.
but then you need to reinstall all apps as well
is a pain i know, but should sort your problem if it is driver related
i basically built a whole new comp after finding out that my crappy tiny pc couldnt fit the new mobo i bought..............800 quid later here i am.......still on it :)
my friends going to pone and talk me threw wiping my windows partitoin soon , so i'll keep you posted.........thanks for the help anyway
ok sorted, only problem is that im getting no sound.......its supposed to have ac97 onboard
You should have the drivers for all onboard stuff on the disc that came with your MB.
Also make sure you have your speakers pluged in the right socket. :)
