everyone in irc has just read the post, and the instant reaction is they`re crap for games.. better make it clear, we`ll only be selling them for creative purposes.
And to answer another question, yes, you can overclock macs. Though no such things as Softmenu :)
my dad uses them,
good for video editing, graphics or a fun computer to write letters and surf. Check out my m8's site macdomain

Blowholes in macs? You mean those things that are generally reputed for being quiet?
Does anyone round here mod cases for any practical reason, or is it just cos u r just 2 l33t???! :D
Plus cracked plastic doesn't look too nice!
Great. :p
Macs are better at somethings than p.c.'s its common sense or they wouldn't sell them.
You may joke about blowholes but modding doesn't always mean the use of a saw, you only have to look at Tami's work to appreciate that.
When did art require to be practical, some of those cases are works of art, certainly after Tami has finished with them.

I actually only meant it as a joke ...
I have seen modded G3s where ppl have painted them alternative colours and stuff, but I think it spoils them... Apple designs are already really nice, and some things are just meant to be left alone.

I know I said I didn't like the idea when I was in the shop, but I think it's a good idea now.
I just don't like macs beacause of the lack of software support and limited upgrade potential. Can't complain about a G4's power thought! If only Athlons were as economic as mac CPUs. Oh well..........
Check out my site! (http://www.itinsite.co.uk)<-- cool new articles, downloads and mp3s added every week

macs have a lot of upgrade potential - I have an 8200 120mhz (601) mac, which must be at least 4 years old now.. I can easily fit a G3 or G4 processor to that, taking it up to nearly as fast as the top spec machines . It uses DIMMs too, before they hit mainstream for PCs. I could fit a Radeon or Voodoo 5500 to it. And there we go , a bang up to date system. You try doing THAT on a four year old PC :)
Agree with you on the software side though, is a bit more limiting...

Hurrah! You mean I can have a PCI graphics card in my Mac?
Go go super mega ultra fast 66MHz bus speed!
Fine for those taxing spreadsheets but ever tried to play games on one?
Ah macs, always one step behind......

they`re not games machines... when did you see me say they were? I pointed out they were upgradable, which is pretty impressive.
What will impress me even more is when I see you post something on this forum a little more creative than continuous negativity, and under a name that isn`t trying to mock one of our other forum members.
Well said Graeme. Bravo.
What was that about sarcasm being the lowest form of whit?

today's wisdom from graeme
I started off on a mac at school before I got a 386 at home, they bring back some memories and are very good for creative purposes.
