View Full Version : ok, now, Graphics Cards
same post as other one
got a 3dfx voodoo4 4500 but im hearing that geforce3 is something to be reckoned with, so is it wrth the upgrade from v4? and what to?
p.s. i dont have much budget on this card really, definetly not enough for a geforce 3 anyways
budget = £150-200(maybe)
Hercules Prophet 4500 64mb Kyro II £120
ATI Radeon 256 64mb DDR £150
Asus GeForce2 GTS 32mb £170
It all depends what you want to do and how much you want to spend. According to reviews these are all good at what they do.
Don't touch the Creative GeForce's I'm told that they are Pish.

i wouldn't bother with geforce 3 at the moment, got one and yeah its fast and the eye candy is nice but my other gts 2 system still does everything just as well in my book. gts 2 you can get from dabs from about £135 for an asustek gts 2 32mb. kryo's don't work to well with some boards and while mx's are cheap its worth the cash to get a gts, still extremely nice cards.
which would run best out of those on a win2k system?
im wanting to go with the asus as i know they make good hardware and its the one i have heard about already(asus gf2)

dejavu, u should get a Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 Kyro II 64MB OEM, they really are pretty awesome. Or you could get the Videologic version the 'Videologic Vivid! XS Kyro II' (http://itinsite.8m.com/kyro2.htm)
hope u get the Videologic one, great company.
Gainward GeForce3 Powerpack, 64Mb DDR, DVI and D-sub, adjustable speed - without losing your warranty!
If G & T can't get it, DABS or Simply do it for £340 but a local mob called Silicon Group had it for sale at the last computer fair at the SECC for £299
