The back is a bit messy and I could have a little more flair in the middle, but I'm basing it on probable performance and will be using the above side on BlueSQ so position isn't a huge factor.

Centre backs:Terry, Gallas
Wing Backs:Thuram, Cannavaro
Wingers:Pires, Beckham
Centre Midfield:Gerrard, Viera
Forwards:Henry, Raul

I picked Terry and Gallas because they play together week in week out, so its a good pairing.
Picking midfield was the hardest because I was so spoilt for choice. I picked Viera as "the rock" who holds the midfield, Gerrard as the play maker. Could of had Zidane, Nedved, Ljunberg, Lampard, Makelele, Ballack, Hamann, Van Der Vaart, Zambrotta, Zenetti, Rui Costa....the list goes on!!

Van Nistelrooy wouldn't be within a 100 mile radius of this side :mad:

LOl, i dont kno wwhy you dont want nistelroy in your side. He would deffinately be a striker of mine, along with Henry. Also both of you have cannavaro as a wing back, he is really a center back, and i recon he will bea center back for italy if he plays. Zambrotta will be the left back for italy, same as he is for Juventus.

Thats just my 2 pence though.

Accepted, Van Nistelrooy is a good player, but he hasnt had the best of seasons. He never seems to be able to go through a match without a penalty claim.

I bet you that for 3 or matches in this tournament a commentator mentions the fact that he dives.

As regards to Cannavaro being used as a wing back, its like I said, this team is being used on BlueSQ betting so positioning isn't really a factor. Personally I would have liked to have Zambrotta at the back as well but he's listed as a midfiled player. Bah, I'd post more but I'm going back to the local to catch the Spain/Russia game...

Saint i do concur that he is a diver, it is more and more common now though and personaly i hate it. Spain and portugal are terrible for it. They wouldnt want me to be refereeing a game for them as i would just send them all off.

Sorry about the positioning bit as well, i didnt read your whole post. Glad you put nedved in there as i think the czech's have a good chance of winning the tournament.
