2m 30s on my Hellfire PC - sniff :(
go on max you know you wanna push it some more...my machine is abit poorly at the moment its lost just over a 1000pts on 3dmark2001  and i o/c it to 4 gigs the other day and i got 43sec on superpi....wtf....it wasnt thermal throttling or anything.
i think i need to format my hdd to get everythiong running proper again.
You know what i dont even know why im o/cing it that much. All i do is surf, play movies, copy dvd's and d/l mp3z.
All of a sudden i've turned into a hardcore overclocker :(
I think 3510MHz out of a 2600c is damn good. I would like to take it to 3600mhz but i think i'll be pushing it. Im stable for 2 days so far at 3.5 so i guess im gonner keep it there.
All i need now is a 22" CRT monitor, 3 silentmaxx enclosures and some UV stuff and im done for 2yrs hopefully.
Ive spend over £3000 on computer stuff in the last 2 months alone
and the Julie isnt happy
LOL me Julie is not happy
I tried to play it cool by sending her flowers to her work place 2 weeks ago but she saw right through it
Its our 7yr anniversary next month so i better pull out all the stops
I wish women were that easy :)
She opens my wage slips for me so i cant say im on a shoe string budget

I just ran Super Pi and did 1m in 35 seconds (3.4ghz running at 3.62ghz). When I had my prescott processor, even when overclocked to 3.8/3.9, best time achieved was 37 seconds. Seems, somehow, this extra 2m L3 cache on my extreme helps.
41 Seconds on my Athlon 3500. Interesting App (i'm a mathematician)
Pentiums should be better than AMDs for this kind of thing I think.

35 seconds at 2.4ghz timings are uber important on this test my ocz will only do 3,2,2,8 at 240ht would love to get my mushkin back in and lower the time down to 34 again.

Yes, that's right, my 333mhz Pentium II managed an amazing 9 minutes 9 seconds. Still, that's alot faster than the 35 minutes outlined in the help section (albeit on a 90mhz Pentium).

Just been playing with my 3700 SanDiego and trying to figure out the RAM settings in BIOS. Finaly got the ram running at the correct FSB, with a mild overclock for the cpu.
Result is 35sec.
I could probably get it lower if I could keep the memory in the 200-225 FSB range and get the cpu up a bit higher.
I'll have to verify this, but mine churns out the 1Mb test in approx 35 secs. although it could be closer to 31 sec....
i'll do it when i've fixed my raptor issue.

Cooling is a nice and cheap Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, which is keeping it idling at 41-43c, I really need to get the cores under load to see how high they go.
I wish 3DS max wasn't being stupid at the moment, then I could see how well it renders now :(
edit: Re-ran it just to check and it nipped under 19s, now it's 18.985, so pretty much a 19s average. Not bad for a £120 cpu and £130 worth of 2gig ram (which is now selling around £200  )
edit2: I can overclock to 3.15GHz and get 18.1s for Super Pi but it Prime95 crashes early on, I think I'll just knock it back a bit and leave it. It's still incredibly fast for a cheap chip.
45 seconds, but.. it only used 50% of my processing power, it went 2% 13% 28%, 45%, 51% and kinda stoped there. Whats up with that?
45 seconds on my Toshiba Equium M50-216, PM1.7Ghz, 512Mb ram.

You could try setting its priority in Task Manager to High.
I did, perhaps its something to do with the dual core processor?
super pi only measures one core, there is no smp version that I know of. So a benchmark of a really fast single core will beat a dual core with a slower speed but 2 cores (which total a faster cpu).

yes good score, but man look at your vdimm !!! :)
Yah i know! My system will only be stable at 3.8Ghz if i have >1.6v running through the bugger... though i have posted before @ 4Ghz - 1.67v but that was silly as it kept crashing.
I still need to tweak it a bit more and tighten the ram timings as i've seen people get sub 11-12s @ 3.8
I'm willing to push up to 1.7v if i have to as temps are very low:
Ambient: <15c
idle @ stock: 16c
Load: 25c
idle @ 3.6Ghz/1.525v: 21c
Load:36c
idle @ 3.8Ghz/1.6v: 28c

Probably should, yeah. OC'ed it to 2.7 on a 300MHz FSB and 1.3v VCore. I'm a bit of a newb at OCing. I know the general workabout, but at the moment I can't tell if it's my lack of understanding of voltages, or just the motherboard that's letting me down.
Shaved 2s off my posteed time with this OC though.

Upgrading from my 2180 @ 3.3GHz to a q9550 (still at stock), knocked almost 6 seconds off my 1M. I know this chips a good clocker, so will be interesting to see how far it will go on the P5E.

Oooooh! tempted to get a dual Quad core Mac with 32Gb Ram and see what speed I get :D:D
But don't have £3k+ to spend.. :(:( lol!
Dropped it down to <14 secs with a slight nudge up on the FSB. Playing around with the ram now to see how far that will go. Next step is to get round to watercooling, but thats probably a few weeks of yet. Still using the Stock Intel cooler that comes with the 9650s. Which tbh for a stock HSF aint too bad, as long as you like blue.
10 seconds on 512k and 24 on 1M on my work laptop, i'll get my Small form factor to do it tonight and post up the results.
8 seconds for the 512k and 20 for the 1m
On the desktop; 7 seconds for 512k, 17 for 1M
I'm not even sure if thats good?
Its not bad at all tbh. Its pretty much a test of pure maths speed, so the higher the clock the better (newer chips always fair better, so the 45nm stuff will be slightly quicker clock for clock).
