3DMark03 Score!!

Hi I got a score of 3898 3DMarks, after Overclocking my CPU and Graphics Card :cool: , and I was wondering if this was an ok score, as after reading some of the threads here it looks not so good, am I going wrong somewhere, My 3DMark Link is http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2592561

Hey with my setup (see signature) I only got 3366 I havn't OC'ed my gfx card.
I've also been led to believe that 2003 is linked directly to how well your gfx card does and other components don't effect it that much. Baring In mind we both have 9600 pro's I think thats probably a fine score.

I think my original score was about 3300 3DMarks, But that was before I started Overclocking things like crazy :D

You could try using some enhanced drivers such as the w1zzard ones here (http://www.ocfaq.com/softmod/). Then just overclock 'til you smell burning :D

Alot of people don't actually realise but making an increase from 512 meg to 1 gig whilst not really effecting your real world gaming has a large effect (positive) on your 3D Mark scores so is one of the best ways to increase your scores if your a benchmarking freak.

Thats its first run through ever, no changes been made yet but I'm happy it'll play Doom just fine. Also for those running AMD systems I have a feeling 3DMark favours the intel chips and puts them in a better light than they should be (try looking at some of the benchmarks done by hexus for example of real world games).

When i was running my xp2800 I was able to score 6000 odd in 3d mark 03 with my fx5900 bios modded to 5950 and my barton overclocked to 2.4 gig I found the higher I clocked my cpu the less difference it would make in 3d mark so at 2.8 my score was still only 6300 so?? Also for high 3d mark scores you should switch all excess processes off in the background also some people use a spare hdd to bench with which will only have the operating system and bench marking program on it....( I never bothered with that )

After Ocing the CPU and graphics card I got to 12512 3D03, but then I started getting a serious number of artefacts in Doom3 (which is as good a test as any for an OC) I've pulled everything back down to stock while I sort out some other issues, so at stock seppeds I get 11,147.

In 3dmark 03...

About 5200 with my Radeon 9700 overclocked, Athlon 2700, 512mb of RAM.

I get a staggering 48 (read it and weep :P) from my Geforce4 mx440, Athlon 650mhz, 288mb of RAM (I think). Im actually worried about this system because it contains a dodgy 128mb stick that shows up as a 32mb, but my brother refuses to let me take it out.

I think 3dmark 03 is a pretty lame bench though to be honest, as it doesn't reflect real in-game performance, just thrashes your graphics card... from 4200 marks (9700 standard) to 5200 marks (9700 overclocked) is a pretty big leap, yet in games (Doom3, FarCry, Halo) the framerate barely changed at all.

Just finished upgrading my oldest PC with a new board, CPU and RAM with a 6800 Ultra as a bonus. After realising the card wasn't going to behave with fast writes I've only got 3dmark03 to hand and was wondering if this score sounds about right.

AMD 3400 Clawhammer (754)
2gb Corsair XMS DDR CAS2
Leadtek 6800 Ultra AGP

Newest reference drivers and all settings on default.

Score of 12000 3D Marks.

Seems about right but not exactly stunning.

I've an X800xt pe on a 3ghz P4 that edges it out by about 300 marks.

I've set the RAM timings manually but not overclocked anything although that is an option thanks to a nice Akasa cooler thats keeping it in the low 40's.

Any thoughts?

BTW, in the first game test i was reaching over 400fps at some points lol.
