Depending on how things go at Lan@yr II , we`re looking at the idea of moving into other areas... would you know many other people in that area who would like to attend a LAN? If so, ask them to post their interest in this thread !!! If we get a huge surge of interest, then we`ll see what we can arrange.

Yea, I know of about 20 people interested including the webmaster of blargoc (www.blargoc.com). Because I live where I live and unable to drive (legally). I could bribe my dad and possibly get as far as stirling. There is bound to be more people interested though!

hi dead one,

slight prob, i can't drive (well i can but not legally) im 16. I was thinking of getting a lan party going in a local leisure centre. with all facilities etc. I can get a decent dhcp server setup. I can hire the place for a good cost, but its finding the people to come. Its about 1/2 hours drive from stirling. Maybe i could move the venue to stirling? still questions to be asked.

We could hapily supply the stuff you need for a lan, servers, games servers, hubs, cabling etc.
maybe we could split the procedes?
anyway, the main thing, as were finding out, is getting peoiple in
if you can get 30-40 people in for a weekend, then its worthwhile.
let us know what you think.

Dead_one,

i am very interested. Find a map and look for Callander. (find stirling and go north)

I am using the schools network w/isdn, im going to go to the sports centre for some eats and i will enquire about the hire costs. I can get about 20 people with a bit of nagging, theres quite a lot of gamesplayers, some of which tinker inside (me!).

I'll post a map if u want.Im interested in coming to the Lay@ayr II event. I need to get off work and get trains. Im hoping to get the Simple PIA mATX case when i come and fit all of the components giving me a system for the lan.

All rather blurred, but we will get there.

What kind of servers? specs?

Its looking unlikely that we`ll have the Pias in time for the lan, probably going to be the middle of July, but we`ll be able to advise better on this nearer the time
