After LAN

Hey guys,

Thanks for all your posts, its fantastic to hear that everyone enjoyed the event - obviously the limited numbers were a slight setback, but it`s really great that everyone was happy.

There will be another LAN, yes, and this time we`ll give a lot more warning and hope to attract a bigger crowd. We`ve learnt a lot from this event, and we`re sure we can make a much better go of it again.

Me thomas , and Paul (Dead_one) will have a meeting in a few days time to talk over our plans and soon as we decide on things, one of us will post it here.

Thanks again for all your support, and check back at the site soon for an article and a selection of photos :) including detailed coverage of coins, jelly beans and blinfolds. (those of you who were there will know what i mean, the rest of you will think I`m weird) :)

Great party on saturday! but an even better one at ibrox on the sunday!! lol@huns :) CHAMPIONEES. anyway back to the subject lol. What about some decent prizes the next time guys?? other partys are offering $15000 as a prize and we got offered crisps!! :( lol. i am sure it will be better with more people aswell.

I don't know where we would get that kind of money from considering 20 ppl showed up all weekend,
the hall costs, the time, the servers, the cabling, the food.

The LAN was the first of it's kind in the area, you need to give us time.
Everyone went there for a bit of fun.
The 4 guys who came on Sunday to play Quake had never played on a lan before, they were thrilled at having low pings! Congrats to Richard BTW. and GODZILLA(AKA Blair) for winning the quake tournaments.
I think considering our loses and the fact it was the first one, our prizes of numerous tidings of crisps, sweets and optical mice were pretty generous. :D
tell me honestly did anyone not enjoy the party simply because there was no $15000 prize?
Playing for money takes out the fun, and it becomes serious.

hey man

i am not criticising the party! it was excellent and i had a great time as i am sure the rest of the guys did! i am just giving suggestions as this part of the forum is for.

of course i didn't expect any big prizes as only 20 people turned up and i certainly didn't expect cash prizes either. but what about discount vouchers for the shop then u r getting money put back into the shop and not anywhere else?

i was definetly not meaning to criticise. no hard feelings eh??

sorry if it seemed harsh, we learned A LOT from that LAN, and i think we'll host a better lan next time, starting with
1. Not trying to host three competitions a day.
2. have say a Quake 3 comp on the saturday then a CS comp on a sunday.
3. advertise it more.

I'm sorry to anyone who felt the LAN was a bit higlty piglty, but it's gonna be a lot more organised this time round. And we'll think up more fun things along the way(Like the blind fold colin Mcrae driving! LOL)

I thought it would all be to a schedule which I guess you were trying to do, but doing it the way you did is more fun. Everyone as far as I can see went for a good laugh and had one :D .

Next time another thing u might want to put on the application forms is that u have to bring along ure PC! i know it is obvious but to all the neds that get there forms from EB (while buying a cursed ps game) this might not seem so obvious! they would probably bring along there ps with james bond racing lololololol.

Thom, the LAN was sweet!

i really enjoyed it a lot and i dont care about prizes at all... we're not playing at a gameplay LAN, which is a rich (or not so) company.


A note for cs tourny... ask people 2 create teams prehand?
and DONT eliminate it down 2 1 on 1 ?

its no fun beating ur m8s that helped u get 2 that stage!

next time tho i think the quake3 tourney should be like what happened sunday + extras...

3 maps (which ones depending on amount of players)

3 games per map, 30 fraglimit

1 point for win, .5 for 2nd

then the tops scoring players fight it out on the 1v1 tourney maps, knockout, timelimit 10, maps like q3tourney4 and tourney2.

I was well up for the 1v1's on sunday, too bad there was not enough people, i was whipping the computer anarki bot on Nitemare skill! :rolleyes:

Hey Thomas.How about at the next lan we have a very special counterstrike level (a kustom pc level) based on your idea of save the kustom staff.What u think? If there are any modelers out there they would come in handy for it.

actually when i was playing with the 200 score, the bots were on easiest level, was trying to get a high accuracy rate :)
