Hi All

Not too sure if this post belongs in here, but will try it anyways.

Whats the fastest download speed you have got on Kazaa?

Mine is 110k, which I think is crap considering I have a 1meg cable modem.

110k isn't bad considering the 1Mb NTL service tops out at around 128k. I have had (when I was on the 1Mb service) downloads in excess of 125K on most P2P apps (don't use them now because of the amount of crap that is put on them. Don't have time to sift through anymore), but always got a constant 128-130k average from the newsgroups.

I get around 70kbs most of the time, other times its just bad.. (under 20kb) :( :D :D I don't think thats bad for 512k Cable.

i used to get 300k at collage maxed out at 300k and manily was 200k

europe online is a great service for a 1-way (download only) connection fast too.

The max i get is between 50 - 60 k
(512k ADSL)

750-800KB/s ... when I was at uni on a 10Mbit/s connection, Kazaa was totally blocked so I setup port forwarding on the main CS server (using Firedoor), and then out. It was sooo fast and I got in sooo much trouble, but it was worth it, ;)

I fing my speeds go from 5k to 30k on average

It all depends on the speed of the pc you connect to, however ive never got above 40k a sec


Am I doning something wrong I wonder !!!!

The best on Kazaa i have ever had is 700K, but from the microsoft update site i got 3.5Megs a sec, admittedly it was on a 100Mbit Uni network but still i think my hdd nearly died!!

At home about 80kps, at uni about 400kps. Got to love uni, they 'discourage' Kazaa, and try to stop people using it, and as a result they totally ignore all Direct Connect style programs. Got to love that direct Internet Hub access.

The best I've ever got was a solid 280 - 290 KB/sec for about 3 minutes :)

I usually get around 130 KB/sec.

Best I got was 41k on 500kb :( but have not used kazaa in a log time because it’s riddled in fake files.

Surely on P2P programs you can only get as fast as the person's connection you are downloading from... I've had around 7k on my 56k :p That was amazing for me lol

Hi,

Not that I want to be picky, but you must mean 1.1Mbit/s or you've not got a T1, as a T1 tops out at 1536Kbit/s (It's 24 * 64kbit/s channels) and 1.1MB/s is 8.8Mbit/s.

Must be, most likely a 10Mbit leased line connection, as 1.1MB/s is about right after overheads etc. for 10Mbit line.

It'll probably be a LES-10, with ethernet presentation, doesn't really have a name, as it's not really a telco circuit in the traditional sense.

In my student house we have 2mb telewest broadband but now they gave every customer free 50% upgrade so we now have 3mb.

Fastest DL in Kazaa i have had is around the 150kB/sec but dowloading general files i have had up to 280kB/sec. The only problem is the cap on the upload speed so if anyone is using bittorrent, CS has a ridiculously spikey ping, anything from 30-400.

Very annoying, but cant complain, havent had any major problems, so all is good for 50 quid a month, which our landlord pays for btw.
