Anyone here tried it yet? (I haven't been able to try it yet because it won't run on my gf2GTS (and I've yet to order my gf4)) I know it looks good (due to the video on the codecult website) but it any good as a benchmark and of what? (i.e gfx card, cpu, etc.)
If you want to try it you can get it here (http://www.filemirrors.com/search.src?type=begins&file=Codecreatures_Benchmark_Pro_Se). (It's the 39.21 MB file)
Note: To run it your gonna need a very good machine (and even then the benchmark will probably still joyously stomp your machine into the ground :D). The people who programmed it (codecult (http://www.codecult.com/)) list the following recommended settings:
Requires DirectX 8.1 (and ensure that Direct3D release, not debug, is selected)!
Your graphics card must have hardware support for pixel shaders! (e.g. NVIDIA: GeForce3 and GeForce4 Ti, ATI: Radeon 8500)
A minimum of 512 MB RAM and Windows XP, 2000 or ME is recommended!
AGP Aperture size: This benchmark requires a total video memory greater than 128 megabytes. This means that if your graphics card has less than 128 MB of memory, then you MUST set your AGP Aperture size to 128 MB or greater. Anything less than this can result in inconsistent results or stability issues.
Write protection must be disabled for all demo files!
So, to the people who can run it; is it any good?
