This is a wierd question but I can't be bothered signing up to an owners group forum miles away for one question.
I'm importing a 1996 Honda Prelude SiVTEC from Japan. It has some fancy intake header and exhaust parts which should make it go "weeeeeeee brooooom neoooooooow screeeeech growl" etc.
I read all over the place about OBD2 on your ECU detuning these modifications so that a bunch of dorks in California can breath cleaner air while shoving fast food down their necks and working out who they can sue for their being fat and lazy.
Sorry, I seem to have gone off topic.
So will I have to reset my ECU periodically like most sites tell me to or is it only American cars that need this workaround? I think I might, but I also think that the plucky Japanese could have made a special ECU for the US market and so I might not.
Anyone know anything about this?
(Got some shiny wheels too yay.)
Many thanks. Nay bother if you can't help none
