Whats It Like You Ask?
This is only a quick jist to what the game is like as Ive only played for approx 3 hours so far and just used keyboard.

Graphics are very good, and with incredible sense of speed (ON helmet cam)particulary at Monza & Japan. However the normal ****pit view seems so slow and I really prefer the new camera mode.

Overall this has the best tracks EVER, they really are like there meant to be and the surroundings and cars are very detailed.

I have to mention the new lighting system which looks very cool but somehow dont seem just right. It applies sun glare to the tarmac but it makes the track look like snow, over bright at times. (On GF3)

Sound is much improved but still not incredible but has good presentation and much better with video background footage.

PLEASE NOTE:
This is a TOTAL machine KILLER.....
Running Everything Max @ 1024 your talking under 20FPS

(Abit AT7/256DDR/XP1800/ASUS - DELUXE GF3)
Performace is utterly terrible for such system specs, even adjusting settings didnt seem to improve things much better.

It will be very interesting to see HOW the XBOX release will perform and look in comparision.

I did find the game playable with RES * 800x600 everything MAX but JUST and it still stuttered at times.

One other thing though...

LOADING TIMES are AMAZING tracks in 10 secs approx.

So for the guys at EA they are put to shame in this respect, yet unfortunately GP4 doesent allow the graphical freedom of EAs F1 2002 on exterior view modes.

GP4 is just like its predessors in this respect.

No doubt both titles will have their up points, so we will wait and see which is better at a later time perhaps...

i agree with u, this is a machine killer...
however, i did get 1280x1024 out of it at about 30 fps - that's on a Gainward GF3550/275 - OVERCLOCKED to 570/288

but the graphics card took hell of a heat/temp surge upwards... the chips were TOO hot too touch - thus i backed of the overclocking and took the res back to 1024x768... at max settings, it doesn't feel sluggish...

will want to take this on with a good GF4 ti4600 soon!! could end up playing 1600x1200 at max settings - but then clocks would have to be at least 310/670??? is that possible?? the Gainward might be able to do it... tad risky!!!

BTW, GP4 rocks on a 21" monitor!!!
