A friend of mine found this old game a while back, and tried to run it on her PC, using Windows 98, it seems to run ok, but the screen doesn't display properly.

There's no box and manual (typical!), but it's on a CD which says "MPC (windows)" on it.

Anyone know what platform it runs on?

Get yourself a windows emulator to run within Windows to emulate a 95 environment and a lowly 120 or something. Cause you'll need a hefty processor to do that and a couple hundred for the emulation software.

Or simply bin it.

Try to find VESA compatiable drivers for the display card. You may be lucky and find some, but I wouldn't hold my breath if the card is AGP.

MPC was term used "back in the day" of Windows 3.x ... It stood for Multimedia PC .. and if I remeber correctly it was just a standard ...

Found this on Microsoft's site

Multimedia PC (MPC) Specifications:

- 80386 SX or DX IBM compatible
- 2 megabytes RAM
- VGA or higher (16 color minimum)
- 30 Megabyte hard drive
- CD-ROM (with audio output support)
- 2-button mouse
- Audio hardware

So I guess your PC is upto it .. if it has the MPC mark with the Windows logo .... then it means if will play under Windows .. so VESA drivers aren't an issue ..

I am afraid Cyberdude, that just because it says MPC (Windows), it doesn't mean that VESA drivers are not an issue. There were games that were designed for Windows 95 that still required VESA compatible drivers, because they ran in a DOS shell. It would be helpful if we knew exactly which game it was that DarkAngel was having problems with.
